He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tangata, he tangata, he tangata!
The spirit of kotahitanga and manaakitanga shines brightly as we acknowledge and celebrate the generosity of Papakura High School and its Tumuaki, Simon Craggs. In a heartwarming display of support, Papakura High School has provided a van to help transport our tamariki-mokopuna from Te Puaha o Waikato and Tuakau to Te Taamatatanga o Pukekohekohe.
Tumuaki Simon Craggs shares, "We're really excited to be supporting Te Taamatatanga o Pukekohekohe as a school, as a board of trustees, and partnering with them on their journey towards becoming a kura. As a token gesture of our support, helping with a van to transport students from Port Waikato (Tuakau) into Pukekohekohe... We know that's a need for them, and we hope they make the most of that and more students will come on board."
This tremendous koha will make a significant impact on the kura and whaanau, ensuring that our tamariki-mokopuna have safe and reliable transport to their place of learning. It is a testament to the strong and growing partnership between our kura and Papakura High School, reinforcing the values of whanaungatanga and kotahitanga that we hold dear.
This generous support was celebrated as Charlie Tuhua (Te Kaahui Whakahaere Secretary), Tumuaki Simon Craggs, and Hana Wijohn (Kaiako Matua Te Taamatatanga o Pukekohekohe) gathered to mark the occasion. The moment was captured in the image above.
Te Kaahui Whakahaere, Te Taamatatanga o Pukekohekohe, and our whaanau extend our heartfelt thanks to Simon, the Papakura High School Board of Trustees, and their wider kura whaanau for this incredible tautoko.
As we embrace this new chapter in our journey, we are reminded of the whakataukii:
"Naa too rourou, naa taku rourou, ka ora ai te iwi."
With your contribution and our collective efforts, our people will thrive.
Pick up runs start next Monday. Thanks again Simon.
Ngaa mihi nui ki a koutou katoa!
