We are delighted to welcome Whaaea Hana Wijohn as our new Kaiako Matua at Te Taamatatanga o Pukekohekohe. With more than 30 years of teaching experience in diverse roles and communities, Whaaea Hana brings both depth and breadth of knowledge to our kura. Her dedication to nurturing and uplifting our tauira will be invaluable, as she guides them through their educational journeys and fosters their growth.

The poowhiri held in her honor was a beautiful and heartfelt occasion, with attendance from Tumuaki Simon Craggs, students from Papakura High School, and the newly appointed Tumuaki Ross Devereux from Pukekohe North School. Our own students from Te Taamatatanga o Pukekohekohe extended a warm welcome, creating a memorable and uplifting atmosphere. Matua Dobbie, along with Whaaea Hana's whaanau, stood by her side, reinforcing the strength of our community and shared vision.

Whaaea Hana's commitment to supporting students across all levels of te reo proficiency is perfectly aligned with our kura’s mission to cultivate a love for learning and cultural pride. Her passion and expertise will undoubtedly inspire our tauira and strengthen our collective journey. We are excited for the future under her guidance. Kia kaha, Whaaea Hana – welcome to our whanau!
